There is nothing better than working with local businesses. Having a direct connection to the people you are working with creates a better experience for everyone involved. I love working with small businesses around Bend. I get to meet so many great people who all want to make Bend an even more amazing place to live. If that’s even possible! Our local community is full of amazing small businesses and we need to support them. Restaurants, beauty shops, toy stores, clothing stores, art galleries, breweries and more. I could go on and on all day about all of the different small businesses around Bend that makes our town unique. Small Business Saturday is one way of recognizing the importance of supporting our local businesses. They truly are what makes Bend great. Bend Pro Web Design is proud to be one of the many small businesses in Bend. Help us on Saturday 11/29/14 by getting out and supporting at least one of our amazing local businesses. Oh yeah, if you happen to need a website, I know a great local web designer that can help you with that....
Here is a great example of a web video. We produced this video for the Downtown Bend Business Association to show the benefits of owning/operating a business in Downtown Bend Oregon. The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1982 to help improve economic vitality by enhancing the experience, image and lifestyle of Downtown Bend. We walked all over downtown with Chuck Arnold, Executive Director of DBBA, to visit with local business owners and got their perspectives on why they love running their business downtown. Downtown Bend is one of the best places to visit in Central Oregon. Right in the heart of Bend, it offers a huge variety of restaurants and shops with something for everyone. Just a couple steps from Mirror Pond and Drake Park, you can also spend the day relaxing right along the Deschutes River. It’s no wonder why business owners love Downtown Bend. Which is a more cost effective form of advertising? With the technology we have today, TV commercials are becoming less effective than they were. The abundance of Tivos and DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) have made it all too easy for viewers to simply skip over the commercials that businesses have invested their hard earned dollars on. Plus, more and more people are sitting in front of their TVs using tablets, smartphones and laptops while they’re watching. Commercials come on and the attention simply goes to a different screen so viewers aren’t seeing the commercials even if they aren’t skipping them. Your website, on the other hand, is there 24 hours a day. Web videos are online 24 hours a day. Adding a web video to your website grabs your visitors attention and gives them one more reason to spend more time on your site. A web video is a way to give people more information than words and pictures can. Not to say that you shouldn’t have great pictures and content, but you should have video as well. Here’s a great example. We made a web video for a business called Bouncing Off The Wall. It is an amazing place for kids (and adults too) to run, jump and play in their indoor fun center full of inflatable bounce houses, slides and obstacle course. Seeing pictures and reading about the fun is great, but seeing the kids having a blast in live video really shows how much fun it is. Check it out: The same video could have been a TV commercial, but how many people would have seen...
Yes! By not having a website, you are losing business. I can’t stress it enough how important it is for your business to be on the web. If you’re not on the web, you are losing business! It doesn’t need to be a huge, elaborate website. Even having a simple one page site that lists basic information about your business is a step in the right direction. In a single page we can make sure your customers can: Know how to contact you Know where you are located Know what your business hours are Know your business exists! If you don’t have a website, many people can’t find this basic information about you. Consider this, you have a business here in Bend selling “widgets” that can only be purchased locally. Visitors to the area nay hear about your product, but need to get in contact with you. Travelers don’t have local phone books in their cars. They pick up their phone and Google “widgets bend oregon.” If they can’t find you, they can’t buy your “widgets.” Even if you don’t have a lot of advertising funds available, starting with a simple one page website is a great way to use your valuable dollars. If you decide you want to expand your website later on, you can always add more pages then. Adding a few more pages to your website lets you have: Photo galleries of your business or products Pages that describe your products or services Testimonial pages that let people know how happy your clients are Web videos that really let people see what you have to offer Web...
