Downtown Bend Oregon Web Video

Downtown Bend Oregon Web Video

Here is a great example of a web video.

We produced this video for the Downtown Bend Business Association to show the benefits of owning/operating a business in Downtown Bend Oregon.  The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1982 to help improve economic vitality by enhancing the experience, image and lifestyle of Downtown Bend.  We walked all over downtown with Chuck Arnold, Executive Director of DBBA, to visit with local business owners and got their perspectives on why they love running their business downtown.

Downtown Bend is one of the best places to visit in Central Oregon.  Right in the heart of Bend, it offers a huge variety of restaurants and shops with something for everyone.  Just a couple steps from Mirror Pond and Drake Park, you can also spend the day relaxing right along the Deschutes River.  It’s no wonder why business owners love Downtown Bend.

Which is a more cost effective form of advertising?

With the technology we have today, TV commercials are becoming less effective than they were.  The abundance of Tivos and DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) have made it all too easy for viewers to simply skip over the commercials that businesses have invested their hard earned dollars on.  Plus, more and more people are sitting in front of their TVs using tablets, smartphones and laptops while they’re watching.  Commercials come on and the attention simply goes to a different screen so viewers aren’t seeing the commercials even if they aren’t skipping them. read more…

Are you losing business by not having a website?

Are you losing business by not having a website?

Yes! By not having a website, you are losing business.

I can’t stress it enough how important it is for your business to be on the web.  If you’re not on the web, you are losing business! It doesn’t need to be a huge, elaborate website.  Even having a simple one page site that lists basic information about your business is a step in the right direction.

In a single page we can make sure your customers can:

  • Know how to contact you
  • Know where you are located
  • Know what your business hours are
  • Know your business exists!
If you don’t have a website, many people can’t find this basic information about you.
Consider this, you have a business here in Bend selling “widgets” that can only be purchased locally.  Visitors to the area nay hear about your product, but need to get in contact with you.  Travelers don’t have local phone books in their cars.  They pick up their phone and Google “widgets bend oregon.” If they can’t find you, they can’t buy your “widgets.”
Even if you don’t have a lot of advertising funds available, starting with a simple one page website is a great way to use your valuable dollars.  If you decide you want to expand your website later on, you can always add more pages then.
Adding a few more pages to your website lets you have:
  • Photo galleries of your business or products
  • Pages that describe your products or services
  • Testimonial pages that let people know how happy your clients are
  • Web videos that really let people see what you have to offer
    • Web videos have greater impact than simply pictures or words!

Website design on your own?

Website design on your own?

With all of the ways for a business owner to make their own website today it’s hard to believe everyone doesn’t have one.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s a better idea to let someone who has experience build your website, but it’s just not in every business budget to go that route.   That being said, take a look around and check out other business websites.

Design
What do you like, or dislike, about the website designs? You want your website to reflect your business but also be appealing to your visitors.  Typically, you’ll start from a template for your website online.  If you do start from a template, make sure you adapt it with your style.

SEO
Another thing that is often overlooked is SEO.  Search Engine Optimization.  You’re all done.  The website is beautiful. Can people find it?  This is one place where a professional is going to be a big advantage for your business.  The whole point of the website is to gain you business.  Properly developing the website so that is easy for your potential clients to find you is key.

These are just a few things to consider when deciding whether or not you want to tackle designing your own website.  If you do decide to do it yourself, send us a link, we’d love to check it out.

The Web Design Process – STEP FOUR

The Web Design Process – STEP FOUR

The last part of the process is making your new website live.  We’ll meet again to go over the final design to make sure we’ve gotten all of the details right.  After steps one, two and three your website will have really come together into a great reflection of you and your business. We know you’ll want to show it off as soon as you can.  Once you give us the thumbs-up we’ll make it live for the world to see.  Now it’s time to let people know about your new website.  Share the link on your Facebook page, Google + page, email your link to everyone you know!

Once people start to see your new website you’re bound to get a lot of feedback (mostly good we hope).  If you come across something that isn’t working right, or just something we hadn’t considered, let us know.  We’re happy to make revisions to really tweak it to perfection. We want you to be happy and your website to be successful.

Congratulations on your new website!

Client meeting for website design

Meeting with client to review website design

Now that we’ve got a draft of your website setup, we’ll set up a time to meet with you and go over what we came up with.   This is our chance to work with you to really tweak the site to fit your business; and what better place to do this than at your business.  Maybe it needs a few more pictures.   Maybe you’ve come up with some important information that you want to make sure gets into the final layout.   Whatever it is, we’ll make sure it turns out just how you want.

Now it’s time for us to get back to work building your website.  We’ll take everything we worked out together and workup your new website.  Then we’ll meet again to discuss putting your business on the web.

Your customers are looking for your business…..let us help them find it.

The Web Design Process – STEP TWO

The Web Design Process – STEP TWO

Once we get a clear understanding of what you’re looking for in a website, we’ll ask you to provide your logo, business information, and photos to include on your website.  We’ll also have you browse our portfolio of websites so we get a feel for your preferred style of website… classic, edgy, trendy, simple, elegant, etc.  We’ll get some color schemes and work up a draft version of your website.  At that point we’ll come to you to go through each page and get your feedback.

One step closer to an amazing website!

The Web Design Process – STEP ONE

The Web Design Process – STEP ONE

The first thing we’ll do is figure out how involved you’d like to be in the process of making your website.  Some folks have a strong vision of what they’d like, while others would prefer for us to “do our thing”.  If you’re tech-savvy, we can build your website and then you would maintain it, or you can just let us know of changes you’d like from time to time, and we’re happy to take care of those for you.

We’ll find out if you have an effective domain name (website address) and e-mail addresses, as well as ask you questions about your plan for social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

You might not know what you want out of your website until we start asking questions, and that’s okay.  We’ll guide you through this process as much as you need us to.

Take the first step today and give us a call for your free initial consultation.
